The 'real' Firefox

"Where in hell was my weekly dose of cute in last week's B3ta newsletter?", cusses Elchooper. "Luckily for you, I found this on my travels trying to calm my aching brian. Isn't it just the sweetest tech-cute hybrid you've ever seen? Even my blackened heart is softened by that."

Too adorable! My guess is that it's a photo of a Pomeranian or Pom-mix pup with a Mohawk clip. I immediately thought "Firefox" when I saw it, too.

This looks like a pomeranian (dog breed). It looks like his owner trimmed or shaved down its fur in all areas except for the red parts, where it looks like he sprayed/tinted a red colour. :o) If it is a pomeranian, it's the cutest one I've ever seen.

What a cool idea! Its a pomeranian that they shaved except for the stripe and then dyed that red.
I have a black pom mix and have been thinking of doing a stripe of white down her back for Halloween.

It's a shiba mix, tirmmed and dyed. I live in Japan, the Siba Inu is a Japanese breed, they are great, a little cat-like and normally don't like other dogs. The shiba is known as the Japanese apartment dog because they are quiet, small and easy to paper or litter-box train.

this is too light for a Shiba Inu pup and the face is wrong for a pomy i not sure other than it is a fox decendance breed and not wolf or jackle decendant breed. it looks like it have genetic lead to the red fox family

I am a dog groomer and show breeder - I would say that it IS a Pomeranian that was shaved except the stripe down its back, which was dyed red. It is too small and fine boned for a Shiba Inu and the face is too short. However, it looks very much like some of my Pom customers when they are shaved.

It IS cute!

My Question is. Did anybody ask the pathetic creature if it wanted to be made-up like a side show freak? jeez, get a real life!

People, please! Dying a dog's hair is NOT cruel or painful. There is no need to use harsh, and possibly painful, chemicals for pre-treatment of the hairshaft. As a former dog-groomer, I can say with authority that doghair is more accepting of the vegetable dye used in any product that would give such a vibrant color result (ie: Manic Panic).

Ok first off, its a baby, and doesnt have the right fur to be a pomeranian, secand off, its most likly a chow pup or a Shiba Inu, id go with shiba personally, secand off like hell thats a part fox, it also doesnt have the right bone structure, im pretty sure thats illegal, and if some one had the license and a proper knowlege to acually own a fox to breed with a dog ( as that would never happen in the wild* its like saying a wolf would breed with a fox* ) then they would have enough brains NOT to do that.
And thirdly that cruel, Im ashamed to admit its cute, but I know its wrong, and to put a puppy through that is horrible!, i dont really care about the mowhawk, theres worse haircuts out there ive seen on dogs, but to die its fur! the chemicals in the die are harmfull for a puppy's sensitive skin! not to mention the consiquences if it axidentally injests them!
Please note i do not mean to offend any one, but its wrong a cruel to do that to an animal for the sake of cuteness.

So who's to say they used permanent human-grade hair dye? Actually there is a vegetable based dyes that do not harm the animal whatsoever even if they lick and ingest it and is pretty much the same as a little kid colouring their hair with Crayola markers. It's in there for colour then rinses out harmlessly. So if the dog's obviously calm enough to let someone groom it, especially with the precision it would take to cut a mohawk, I'm sure it was no more traumatic for the dog to have simply have some dye put into its fur after the normal bathing and grooming process than just a regular bath and groom. I'm not saying this is definately what happened here but, it's completely a possiblity and therefore no SPCA is needed unless you would call the SPCA for someone grooming their dog period. You don't know, don't jump to conclusions.
