LOL fat squeezy thing on the other hand kinda wish I had a fat squeezy wombat but I'd train mine to sneak into my little brothers room and swing off the light and land on his stomach causing him to be scared and hurt so i could black mail him and steal all his things but I'd rather have an evil sort of bagpuss instead of a fat squeezy thing or a groundhog although imagine that an evil bagpuss as your servant yeah that would rock as long as he didnt try to eat you or hurt you. Just watching tv while posting this and watchin a nature program and this stupid adventurer person and his camp has just been crushed by a falling tree oddly though hes quite prone to saying "holy mackeral" which is odd because i dont now of any religion which has "holy mackeral" in it although maybe he just things jesus is somekind of fish.
It's a wombat! I'm Australian, and they're native to Aus. Make great pets but known to be very grizzly, popular TV show years back used to have a pet one called 'Fatso'. Can't think why......
If it is a wombat, you gotta watch yourself - they are pretty much blind, and if you wave your hand in front of them and they mistake it for food they'll tear ya apart.
Actually i don't think it's cute at all - I think it's a bit scary - think how rough it could cut up if its grub was a bit late. Cute things should be small!
you Americans can be strange! Wombats eat mainly grass. They are not very good on roads and a probably the most commonly found dead animal seen on our roads. They annoy farmers here as they dig holes in paddocks and under fences and eat the grass. they also bulldoze through fences. They are otherwise harmless unless your car runs into one.
OmG! sometimes we feel very cut off from the world in australia. that is definately a wombat, native to our country. I must say it gave me and my mates a good laugh to find out that nobody knew what it was. it is definately not a possum. possums are much smaller and cuter and have bigger eyes. dont believe me? go google image a wombat and a possum and ull see.
Wombats are probably the crankiest creatures in the world once they're grown. I personally wouldn't be cuddling one. Their other trick is biting your ankles when you're not looking. REALLY friendly. If you're going to cuddle one I want to see the video of it. AND whether you can actually lift it or not.
Oh yeah, that's a Wombat. Not really an exceptional member of the species and kinda dim-looking. As for possums, they're only cute in Oz, come over to the land of the Kiwi and see how we feel about 'em ;)!
Yes a wombat. Nice wild pet but rather like a grouchy old man.
Big boned is correct. I remember our small car driving over one when I was a child. Front-end quite damaged and the critter wandered off with no apparent injury. Car 0 Wombat 1. A wombat can cause more injury to a car than a baseballbat.
Perhaps mobile speed humps is more apt as a description.

looks like my mexican grandma
I think wombats are very underrated. The painter Rossetti owned one, and wrote an ode to it when it suddenly died.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh.
Ohhh god - I want one.
*shuffles off to cry at the lack of squeezy fat wombat in her life*
It's a groundhog isn't it? Whatever, I want one.
He looks unhinged and a leeedle bit sleazy does that one. It's almost as if he KNOWS something. Something tells me he's a bit of a boy that one...
what was that about owners looking like their pets?
It is an Australian wombat. Not a groundhog or a fat squeezy thing.

Looks like Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver.
judging by his face i can almost say he's smiling.. ah what a poser, who says that wombats are ugly? :))
He's not fat, just big boned. And that's not a joke
THATS NOT A WOMBAT, ITS A POSSUM
"Looks like Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver."
YES!.............YES!
Definitely a wombat. Maggie the wombat we visited in Tasmania was the cutest one that we saw.

He should have his own TV show. I can imagine him in a suit, and smoking a cigar. Let me speak to his agent...
Neat pic .. the only wombats I usually see are dead along the side of the road!

~WHOAH~
that thing is cool ! i want one!
Not exactly worthy of an "aahh" of endearment, but perhaps an "aahh" as a shocked prelude to "aahh, what the blood 'ell?" may be in order.
This is very likely the funniest thing I've seen in the past ten or twenty years. And I'm only twenty-three, so that's quite a chunk of time.
Well done, chaps, well done.
UGLYNESS
ewwwww. its a fat rodent.
